West Gate Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

TeamDAAK: Wow, the area has dramatically changed since I put the cache here. I think that the container is still there, but covered in dirt. I searched for it, but could not find it. This cache had a good run, but considering the construction, it is time to retire this cache.

Geocache Description:

Ak Sar Ben - the west gate

Once famous for horse racing, 1975 tornado, conventions, galas, Douglas County Fair, and the Ak Sar Ben Ball. This once thriving location has only a few areas that hint at what it used to be. This used to be a west gate for entering. The gates existed for several years after demolition of all other structures.

Parking on 72nd Street is a bad idea.
Parking at WalMart and walking across 72nd Street is a bad idea.
Parking down the hill by FDR's west lot and walking up the hill is a good idea and good for you!

Please try to replace the cache as you found it.

Congrats to da_ewoks and Mr_Ewok for co-FTF!

2011 06 20 - changed from D1.5/T1.5 to D2/T2.5 upon further review
