Geocache Description:

What'cha Call It
.
This is the 28th in a series of caches to commemorate our towns 300th Anniversary: 1711-2011. The Tricentennial Committee sponsored a Township wide geocache hunt which was held in May 2011. Warminster Township has asked to have a geocache event in Fall 2012 in conjunction with planting another 300 trees in the Warminster Community Park - stay tuned.
.
During it's planning, we had many sketches for the various natural elements in the park. One constant was this runway. How could we develop the park and not remove the very thick concrete runway.
.
In the end we found that a 7500' long runway has many uses. Folks have had car shows here, rally races here, and it's a most convenient parking area for large events like Warminster day. We put many hours into creating this park. Each time I come, even today, I'm just very pleased that so many folks (even Geo-Cachers) enjoy the park as much as they do.
.
Geocache
This is a small nano attached to the "What'cha Call It" which was part of an old Navy tail-hook apparatus used for testing. Always be aware of the muggles.
.
The closest parking is at Northampton Township's Park on Hatboro Road with about an 10-11 minute walk to the "What'cha Call It" cache over paved pathways all the way. Enter the Warminster Community Park at the pedrestrian entrance at the traffic light at Hatboro Road and Bristol Road.
.
Good Luck.
