This cache is in memory of Lucille (a.k.a., Lucy), our Golden
Retriever/Yellow Lab mix. I hid it during one of my regular visits
back to Michigan on the day that Lucy passed away.
Lucy was adopted from the Capital Area Humane Society in 1997
because our first dog, Sally (adopted the year prior), suffered
from separation anxiety and would whine continuously when we had to
leave her at home alone. Sally was very territorial and didn't want
Lucy around at first. By the end of the first evening that was
resolved and they became companions.
When we first saw Lucy at the Humane Society, she was about six
weeks old and quite timid. Timidness is a trait that she never got
over during her life, but she was a very sweet and loving dog. She
was always wonderful with the micro cachers, Eleanor and Maxwell,
and was very tolerant of them even when Max was undeserving.
We started caching when Lucy was already twelve years old, so
she didn't go too many times. However, I do have some fond memories
of caching with her. It's too bad we didn't get to do more.
Goodbye, Lucy. We will miss you!
I wasn't able to get the best coordinates when I hid this cache,
but there aren't too many places in the vicinity to hide a regular
size cache. Those of you that have found my caches in the past will
recognize the container type. Please re-hide well. There are plenty
of materials to use for camouflage. Also, be stealthy as you won't
be too far from the trail.
Congratulations to thevidas for the
FTF!
