Geocache Description:

A quick and simple cache in Leichhardt. The cache is not on the railway and is accessible from the footpath. Please do not go onto the railway tracks.

The Marion Street Underbridge is a heritage listed railway bridge in Leichhardt. It is a landmark that marks the western entrance to Leichhardt. The bridge is a single span bridge with double tracks crossing Marion Street. The bridge is constructed of steel half-through riveted plate web girders.

It was built some time between 1910 and 1920 as part of the project to build a railway line to take goods traffic off the main passenger railway line.

The railway is proposed to become an extension of the city tramway at some time in the future.

Enjoy.
