Located near a Children's Summer Camp and the old mining town of Alexo.
Located near the children's summer camp "Camp Alexo" which is located on the old Alexo Town site. Alexo was a mining town until 1955. Nordegg, Alexo, and Saunders were all coal mining towns along the railway. Various aspects of the history remain at each site. Alexo now houses a children and youth summer camp that is operated by the Youth and Voulnteer Centre in Red Deer which includes the local Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Boys and Girls Club of Red Deer and District.
