This area with the help of the community a restoration programme to restore areas of Queen Elizabeth Park to an earlier known wetland environment. Parts of the coastal park were historically swampy and created a habitat for a wide variety of plants and other wildlife
Recently a series of ditches and swales have been formed to recreate this wetland area. Planting, weed and pest control was carried out by friends of the park and Greater Wellington Regional Council.

The park is open daily from 8am to dusk.
This cache can be approached on numerous ways, BUT you must obey all the signs on entry to each points.
You are looking for a screw top container with logbook, a pen and a few swaps, there is also enough room for trackables.
