A quite quick PARK AND GRAB on a short side trip from I-90. Use the Springdale exit.
Captain Wm. Clark of the famous Lewis & Clark Expedition passed through this area with several men, Sacajawea, her 18 month old son, and 49 horses in mid July, 1806.
Their goal, while exploring the Yellowstone valley, was to build dugout canoes, send the horses overland to the Missouri confluence, and reunite with Lewis there. They were not able to find sufficiently large cottonwood trees until near present day Reed Point, as opposed to today's abundance of them near here.
This cache commemorates those first white explorers of the area.
Please return Clark's Yellowstone Trip cache to its correct hide, and pick up a little trash as you leave the area.
$20 bill and new cap to FTF!
