While GZ is very close to the carpark, if you have the time there are many lovely things we enjoy close by:
- Sit under the trees and admire the Gumnut sculptures
- A beautiful bush track Northwest follows the trainline up to an underground walkway through to the Artarmon shops
- A lovely stroll Northeast along the bike track up through the suburb of Artarmon
- A leash free dog area is on the Artarmon Reserve oval near GZ, so bring those GeoPups to make some friends
- A great playground (Artarmon Playground) for the GeoKids is at the end of Burra Road (walk 2 min Northeast)
- For those with more time, you can walk from GZ to about 40m from Middle Harbour before having to cross a road. This walk follows the bike track Southeast around the oval, and turn left to walk alongside the stormwater drain under the freeway and next left again at an old stone bridge (from where the stormwater continues under ground). Continue along the bicycle track under Brook Street and take the left prong of the Y intersection, along Wilkes bush track (not suitable for wheels eg prams, bikes or wheelchairs) and then the length of Tunks Park down to Middle Harbour. A beautiful stroll if you have the time.
Located close to the archived Gumnut Hollow cache which we remember fondly as it was the first cache we found.
