This cache is above famous Little Beach. You can reach this directly from the highway or park at the first Makena Big Beach lot. You may encounter nude hikers from Little Beach at top. DO NOT attempt to reach this cache from Black Sand Beach or top of divide between Big and Little Beach where the Trail is closed due to slippery gravel and sheer cliffs!
This beautiful view of Molokini and other islands is from the top of a cinder cone called Puu'Olai. Can be accessed several ways. One is to go to Makena, or Big beach, then walk north on sandy beach and climb over the lava ridge to Little Beach, a clothing optional beach. About halfway in Little Beach, turn away from ocean and go uphill on on deer trails to cache. Watch for thorny brush. Don't be afraid to hike over to Little Beach. It's friendly, won't hurt anyone, and you might even like it and try it for yourself. If you go Sunday evening around 5pm you'll see fire dancers, drummers and all kinds of people dancing or talking, and watching the gorgeous sunset. Many are dressed then, but some are not. It's a great experience. Don't photograph people unless you ask!!
