While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for the cache owner and block other cachers from placing a cache in the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can’t do so forever.

Nothing seems to happen with this cache listing, so it is now archived, so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. Also, if it hasn’t been done already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

If the owner wants it reopened, send me an e-mail and I’ll be happy to unarchive the cache listing if it still satisfies the requirement/guidelines.

Fet kirke er en langkirke fra 1890. Byggverket er i tre og har 700 plasser, og er opppusset/rehabilitert i 2007/2008.
Cachen er en middels stor boks med blyant. Ikke tilgjengelig ved mye snø.

Fet church is a church from 1890. Built of wood and has 700 seats and is rehabilitated in 2007/2008.
The cache is a medium box with pencil. Not available if lots of snow.

Fet kirke er bygget 1890. Den gamle ble revet året før. Den nåværende er den fjerde på stedet. Den har vestkor, noe som er uvanlig. 2 altertavler. Den ene fra 1682 i barokkstil. Ornamentikken er antakelig skåret av Christoffer Ridder. Døpefonten er i marmor og hugget av Brynjulf Bergslien. Dåpsfatet ble gitt til kirken i 1684. Det tilhørte da en døpefont laget av Christoffer Ridder og hans svenn. Den andre er nygotisk fra 1890, Christus Consolator av Carl Bloch. Han har også laget altertavlen i Skedsmo kirke. Middelalderkirken lå på Hov gård og ble bygget før 1371. Den første lå antakelig på en slette ut mot elven nord for våningshuset. Den brant en gang mellom 1570 og 1589 og ble avløst av en tømmerkirke som brant ned etter et lynnedslag i 1680. En ny tømmerkirke sto ferdig i 1681. Den nåværende kirke ble bygget delvis med materialer fra den gamle.

Fet church was built in 1890. The old one was demolished the year before. The present is the fourth on the site. It is situated westwise, which is unusual. 2 altarpieces. The one from 1682 is in baroque style. Ornamentation is probably carved by Christopher Knight. The font is marble and carved by Brynjulf Bergslien. Baptismal bowl was given to the church in 1684. It belonged as a baptismal font made by Christopher Knight and his journeyman. The other is Gothic Revival in 1890, Christus Consolator by Carl Bloch. He has also made the altarpiece in the church of Skedsmo. The medieval church was on Hov farm and was built before 1371. The first was probably on a plain towards the river north of the farmhouse . It burned sometime between 1570 and 1589 and was replaced by a wooden church that burned down after a lightning strike in 1680. A new wooden church was completed in 1681. The present church was built partly with materials from the old one.
