ALOHA from O'ahu
---Moloka'i Lookout---

Located on the southeast coast of O'ahu along a scenic drive, the Moloka'i Lookout offers stunning views of the jagged lava cliffs and of our nearest neighbor - Moloka'i.
The Kaiwi channel separates the islands of O'ahu and Moloka'i and is 26 miles (42km) across and 2300 feet (701m) deep. On a clear day you can easily see the island of Moloka'i. On rare days you can see the top of Maui's Haleakala appear over Moloka'i. Haleakala is over 10000 feet high (3048 meters) and 130 miles (210 km) from Honolulu. If you're even luckier you may see Mauna Kea on the island of Hawai'i. Mauna Kea is 13,796 feet (4205 meters) high and 175 miles (278 km) away.
During the winter months the lookout becomes a popular spot to catch a glimpse of migrating Humpback Whales.
