Chickens Nuggets? Just Wing It! Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

JL_HSTRE: You can still wing it nearby, but I have decided to remove the cache. It was a nano on the underside of the fire hydrant. The container will reappear in the future.

Geocache Description:

You're seeking a container I won it in a raffle. When searching for this cache do not harm foliage, do not disassemble anything (not a sprinkler!), and do not otherwise harm the area. Could be a high muggle area sometimes, especially around dinner time.

This cache is a tiny tribute to the first cacher I met after me and InitialJoe started caching: EAT MOR CHIKIN. EMC's clever hides have expanded my geo-senses and I've enjoyed some cache hunts with him, usually teaming up to get the sneaky hides of another. This container is not quite as clever as his hides tend to be.

But that's only half the story behind the cache; let's look closer. Growing up, chicken nuggets were probably my favorite food (until surpassed in high school by pizza). Those golden arches had a sort of magnetism to me: not the fries nor the toys (usually) nor the play area (they didn't install ball pits until I was too old). It was always about those tasty little chicken nuggets and the unique sweet-n-sour sauce. I almost hid this cache near some golden arches because of this. Especially since EMC could appreciate the irony of seeking a cache near his competition.

The bigger and usually better form of chicken nuggets are chicken wings, but I long avoided them because I don't care for most BBQ nor foods that set my mouth on fire. Then in 2009, I made a grand discovery: wings flavored garlic parmesan instead of BBQ! Combining two flavors I liked and using it on chicken? And you can get boneless wings now? Superlative!

Then came the quest for such a delicacy. I had to look high and LOW for places offering more than the basic BBQ varieties of wings. I found that I like my wings wild, but those buffaloes don't run around here. There is a local chain that is quite popular, but their garlic parmesan wings just don't blow me away. Finally, I discovered a place that put me in the zone. If only it were closer to my home!
