This place lies hidden,... and still it is a place that reminds us the bitter times our ancestors experienced. It is a place we should know and respect.

On 13th april 1944 an american "bombardier" of a "Liberator-Bomber" died over this village. After being hit by the Germans, the Americans got the order - Bail out at once! From the crew of 10 soldiers, all but Leo Carey, who got of the bomber last, survived. Leo Carey's parachute had just opened and he was still too close to the aircraft when it exploded. Leo Carey died while fighting for our freedom.
This memorial has been inaugurated in June 1999 in the presence of Bonnie Beinhaur, the niece of Leo Carey.
