Re-cycle or Recycle TwoFour(Wellington) Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

TheCur8or: As this cache has been out of action for too long, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.
As the MEGA is this weekend I am archiving these now. Please remember:
If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

This is the second part of the Re-cycle or Recycle series placed on the cycleway between Ngauranga and Wellington. The only way to access these caches is to walk or cycle to them.

This is NOT a park and grab series as there is no stopping on or near GZ but parking is available nearby on side roads and all the caches.

Directions

All containers used for this series are either recycled or recycleable to keep it to theme.

The caches placed on this cycle-way are for your enjoyment and safety was considered, therefore NO caches were placed on the Armco barriers on the outside (roadside) of the cycle-way.

For safety it is recommended that you start this cache series at Ngauranga, work to the Southernmost cache, and then return to the start. This stretch of road the Old Hutt Road is a very busy old State highway, and there is a very clearly marked and visible where you can walk or ride. I strongly recommend that you start and finish this section of the trail at Ngauranga.

You are being watched from above

You are not required to walk or cycle on any other part of the road or cross the railway lines, please use pedestrian crossings where they are supplied. Crossing the railway lines is illegal, dangerous and may incur a $10000 fine.

Facts

Applications Steel is the world’s most recycled material.
Steel packaging is used for drink cans, food and petfood cans, paint cans, aerosols and containers of many other household and industrial products.
The average New Zealand family uses six steel cans per week and Each steel can is 100% recyclable.
It can be recycled over and over again into new products like, bikes and of course new steel cans. Steel cans, often called tin cans, have only a very thin layer of tin - 15 millionths of an inch thick to prevent corrosion – thinner than the skin of a soap bubble.
Some 2 billion steel cans are recycled on average each year – that’s about seven million cans every working day, enough to make a circle around the world five times.
