Springside Nature Reserve
Springside Nature Reserve waits to surprise lovers of the great outdoors with an unexpected quilt of stream-fed wetlands, coastal forest and grasslands in the very heart of suburban Hillcrest.
The reserve is a favourite for school projects, and offers a lecture hall ideal for assimilating the sights and sounds gathered along its two hiking trails.
If you are very quiet, you should come across a few shy buck. Purple crested turacos can often be heard calling in the treetops near the cache.
The views over the rolling grasslands and riverine areas of Springside make the short climb to the highest point in the reserve very worthwhile.
After signing the log, pause awhile and soak in the views.
Maintenance Note 28 January 2012. Cache is now a nano, Still at the same co-ords, but moved very slightly.
