This cache is placed on the Nancy B. Diggs Nature Trail. I thought I should add this interesting spot to the Lake Erie Seaway Trail caches. According to a sign near the cache, the last public hanging in New York State took place in Mayville, NY. Joseph Damon was hung on May 15, 1835 with over 8,000 people witnessing it.
