Lytes Cary Loop 1. Lytes Cary Manor (National Trust) has 3 marked walks on the estate. This loop takes in the estate walk (red) and the river walk (yellow). It is approximately 3 miles long and the terrain is easy. Cache placed with the kind permission of the National Trust"
From the car park you walk past the park on your left and the allotments on the right. The park is grazed though the year. It is managed to encourage green woodpeckers which feed on the extensive ant colonies. From the seat near the pond, you can see 3 churches (Kingsdon, Charlton Mackrell and Kingweston). Near the main Exeter to London train route is green down nature reserve where the large blue butterfly was re-introduced.
