Place: Rossignol Estate Winery, Little Sands, PEI
Purpose: Social Fun
This is part of the "2011 Discover the Island" Cache Event Tour. Geo-events are being scheduled throughout the Island to encourage cachers to get out and discover the "Best of PEI" through its festivals, events and local cache hides, and to bring events to all areas of the Island.
This has been referred to as the "Island East Wine, Shine and Dine" event by some, but we prefer the "Red Dirt & Purple Feet" event!
Come on out for an afternoon of geo-fun and camaraderie, and buddy-up and stay around to cache the surrounding area. Besides the usual swapping of tall tales (aka "geo-lies"), there'll be a vineyard tour, sampling of locally produced wines and spirits from nearby distilleries (potato vodka, anyone?), local artisan's wares, farmer's and seafood market, and entertainment (will El Nimrod sing or rootie dance?). Flying pigs are more likely, but you never know, and you certainly don't want to miss it!
PLUS, we will have a grape stomping contest featuring the "Red Dirt Raiders" -- El Nimrod, betsy1985, GeoKeiko, dryland sailor and callbecks -- so come out and cheer on your favorite "big foot"! Drinkin' it's one thing, stompin' it's another! See if GeoKeiko can retain her stompin' title from last year.
This promises to be a really fun day, so come on out. Hopefully we'll see some of our "East Isle" cachers. As usual, there'll be lots of great prizes.
