Geocache Description:

This is a micro magnetic cache placed in the memorial garden of Shaw and Crompton. Please spare a moment to think about those who have gone before us.

This memorial commemorates the residents of Crompton who died in the First (346 names) and Second World War (76 names). Many of these memorials were erected after the First World War. After the Second World War, the names of those who died in that war were also added to the memorial. Close to the cache ther is also a plaque to remember those who fell in the South African war between 1899-1902.
