Geocache Description:

Lytes Cary Loop 2. Lytes Cary Manor (National Trust) has 3 marked walks on the estate. This loop takes in the estate walk (red) and the river walk (yellow). It is approximately 3 miles long and the terrain is easy. Cache placed with the kind permission of the National Trust

Following the red route you cross arable fields. In the winter it is possible to find ammonite fossils which are extensive in the blue lias stone which is found though out the area. The walk passes newly installed owl boxes. If owls are seen please report the fact to reception. Look for orchids on the path edges. You pass a small wood which contains a number of locally notable oak trees. At the bottom of the field is the A37 (Fosse Way Roman Road).
