Geocache Description:

The cache is placed on part of the old rail embankment which runs through Lesmahagow; now the Lesmahagow Woodland Walkway. From this section of the walkway you can see the Old Parish Church, Abbeygreen and the remains of the Lesmahagow Priory which was founded by Benedictine monks in 1144.

The walkway has been regenerated in parts, with concrete and handrails, however most sections remain muddy underfoot. A popular walkway for dog walkers, linking Woodpark to Abbeygreen.

Lesmahagow Woodland Walkway can be accessed from many points in Lesmahagow running along the River Nethan. Parking available in the main car park off Abbeygreen Road, behind the bank.

Cache is a small lock tub big enough for swaps, coins and bugs.
