in our disclaimer.
The cache is a small cliplock box.
There is a easy way to the cache site and a steep way. The easy way is to follow the path up the hill from the car park area, then take the small path off to the right and down the wooden steps, then approach the limekiln from the left. If you continue up the path, you will be above the limekiln.
Coppett Hill is encircled by the River Wye and is a great location for walking. If you are feeling energetic and want to go to the top, you will be rewarded with fantastic views.
We have hidden our cache at the Limekiln as we think it is an interesting spot. Limekilns are a common feature of the Wye Valley because of the availability of limestone and plentiful supplies of charcoal as fuel. This particular limekiln was operated from the 1700s until the 1890s. There is further information on the plaque at the cache site (see photo).
There are lots of nettles at the GZ so please come prepared.
You can park in a area just off the lane at the bottom of the path (N 51° 51.733 W 002° 36.475). It is possible to do a quick park and dash from there, or you can continue up the path to the top of the hill, and do a circular walk as there are many paths on the hill.
Permission to place this cache has been granted from the Coppett Hill Trust.
