Geocache Description:

An easy park and grab cache on a busy little industrial estate.

Royal Naval Air Station Burscough was the last airfield to be built in Lancashire during WW2. Covering an area of approx 650 acres. Like all Fleet Air Arm (FAA) bases, RNAS Burscough was named after a bird. It was formally commissioned as HMS Ringtail on 1st September 1943. Its role was to accommodate day and night fighters, torpedo fighters, Fleet requirement units and a radar school. It was to be a very busy station with 40 units ultimately being based there.

The cache is a 300ml klip lock tub containing a logbook and pencil, Ted the duck and car air freshner for the FTF.
