Geocache Description:


Thatcham is one of the oldest continuously settled towns in the UK with Mesolithic remains dating back to 8000B.C. being found in the vicinity. The cache is adjacent to a new 800 housing estate built on the site of the former ordnance depot that supllied the armed services since 1942 and was in regular use until the year 2000.There is a nearby adult and children's playpark with a bridge crossing the railway -West of England mainline-and gives access to the nearby Kennet and Avon Canal The cache is a "magnetic nano"

This is awell used area for dog walkers, etc and mugglers, particularly as there is a playpark near.
