One Year (Wellington) Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Tim+Jed: We finally got around to visiting this one after a while and found that it has suffered quite a bit of deterioration (weather and human related) at all the various stages of the hunt- so much so that we believe rather than try to revive it's time to archive this one. It has been good for the last few years and thanks to everyone who has made the effort to grab it.

Geocache Description:

One Year

The 1st of October 2011 marks the last day in our first year of Tim+Jed geocaching. To celebrate and remember this significant occasion we have undertaken that on this special day we will complete a couple of exploits that represent the two sides of the geocaching coin.…

#1 Place this puzzling Cache to give back a little to all those that have given us finding pleasure over the last year.

#2 Hunt and find New Zealand's oldest cache - GC46. This find will bring our total finds to one find for every day of our first year -a very good way to remember all the fun we have had chasing down tupperware, ammo boxes and eclipse containers. It should be a good day.

Thanks to everyone who has gone to the effort of placing caches in all those fabulous places around the country, overseas and particularly in Wellington that we have found. And also thanks to all those who have placed caches that we are yet to find- lots of fun for the future!

CACHE FACTS
EXTRA NOTE--The Final has "fallen out" a couple of times after being found, so please be sure it is secure in its location when you leave. Give it a twist to lock it in- Thanks.--

The given coordinates are not where the cache is, but they are close. Once you have solved the coordinate puzzle, the site work will take a few minutes to complete as it includes three different locations, but they are all very close (less than 35 metres apart) so walking is easy.

The cache pays homage to a few of our favorite finds from our first year of caching, by borrowing ideas/ activities/ and hides from them. Note- this is not a scenic spot- but it offers other attributes which is why the cache is here. We have also done a fair bit of CITO here, so feel free to help out as well.

The difficulty rating reflects the steps to be undertaken and the well hidden/ camouflage of the final hide. The cache is a little little bison tube (about the size of your little finger) so bring your own pen. There is no need to fiddle with any private property during the hunt.

Please be sure to replace all parts of the hides back just as you found them.

Have fun and roll on year two of Tim+Jed Caching
