Swiss Mountain Trivia
What the ocean, the red clay and the beautiful PEI landscape is to an “Islander”. The majestic alpine mountains peaks, pristine valleys and lakes mean the same to the Swiss. The Swiss Alps are legendary and have been instrumental to shape the Swiss Tourism Industry. Growing up near Berne Switzerland I came to appreciate these mountains. In particular a famous mountain trio in the Bernese Oberland has always been one of my favorite vistas. No visit to my homeland goes without an outing to my mountain trio that will forever be connected.
Some facts that might help you identify my mountain trio:
In 1912 a cogwheel train was build to take travelers up to the ridge (3454m) between the mountain in the middle and right side of the trio (see foto's). Today you can enjoy a view from the “Top of Europe” and enjoy a glass of wine with fine food in style. (Quite spectacular)
From this vantage point you might also see mountaineers climbing one of the world’s legendary and dangerous rock faces of a mountain that is also part of my mountain trio (left). This mountain was used in a title and backdrop of a 1975 action movie.
You can solve the puzzle using any means possible to identify the three mountains, further research the height of the three mountains at summit in meters and add them together.
