Geocache Description:

I’ve been admiring these sculptures every time I drive by here, on whatever journey I’m on at the time. It is so kewl for a small town to do something like this! I’ve often thought of putting caches at them, so other people could see them, too. This trip I did it...enjoy! There are six large sculptures placed along this walking path. They represent some of the prairie flowers found in this compelling landscape: Shooting Star, Fiddleneck, Yellow Bells, and Blazing Star. The Potato Flower and Wheat sculptures are a tribute to the crops that exemplify Connell’s continuing farming heritage. As you encounter the sculptures along the path you will notice that each sculpture has a nameplate with both a botanical Latin and common name to identify the plant species. These sculptures are hand forged steel, by Jean Whitesavage & Nick Lyle, 2009. (Washington State Arts Commission in partnership with Coyote Ridge Corrections Center – City of Connell.) The walking path is .89 mi from end to end. You can park at either end, and also in the middle. This is the flower with pretty much no parking, so it will be a little bit of a walk, but the whole path is .89 end to end, so it's still not bad. It's paved, too.

CONGRATULATIONS to flutemaker on the FTF!
