Geocache Description:

The "Bench," as it known along the Wasatch Mountains, refers to the previous shoreline levels of ancient Lake Bonneville. The Stansbury, Bonneville, Provo and Gilbert shorelines each mark a time when the lake level remained constant long enough to deposit massive accumulations of sand and gravel.

The Ogden Bench where this cache is placed is also on a shoreline, albeit an urban one. It is a beautiful Ogden park which we just happened upon while driving around randomly, exploring streets close to home.

The cache is a cammoed decon container, hidden among reeds on the edge of the grass. To avoid unnecessary damage to the area I'll describe exactly where the cache is placed and how to reach it.

The posted coords should take you to an open spot about three feet wide on the edge of the reeds. Standing there, facing the reeds, the cache is about knee level, at about a 10 o'clock relative position. It is secured to a reed with hemp covered wire.

Please don't try to move the decon from its tied position. You should be able to reach and open the cache without any barriers. I hope you enjoy the park. A couple of laps will provide some nice exercise before or after your find!
