I Can't Hear You Anymore Traditional Cache

Near this location, a cache was once hidden on a lowly payphone. Long before cellular phones, instruments such as this payphone were used to permit communication while away from home. Alas, these instruments are becoming ever increasingly rare as "The Network" gets larger and larger, and more and more reliable, at least partially due to people walking around the country asking "Can you hear me now?".
We expected the payphone at this location to last at least until a red-shirted guy was actually able to hear someone on the other end of his cellphone. Sadly, However, the instrument at this location was retired early - not because of the incursion of the network, but instead as a result of another form of progress - the demolition of the old to permit the placement of something shinier and newer - such as this temple dedicated to the weary traveler.
So, in memory of the lowly old payphone, and our previous cache, and all of the other things which have disappeared to make way for the new, we are placing this cache near the spot where the payphone once stood. We hope that it gives you a moment to reflect on all those things which have moved on, sometimes good, and sometimes bad, in the name of progress.
