Geocache Description:

[EN] Synagogue - the spiritual, cultural, economic and political center of the Jewish community. The first specific mention of this synagogue found in Ukmerge's pastor jurisdiction inventory in 1772. In 1877 synagogue burned through the city fire, but it was restored without any change in the external image. The synagogue functioned until 1941, In 1953 synagogue building was renovated and converted to the sport school.
