Plan for a long outing to find this cache. To access Inherited View, walk or bike down the connector routes (shown on local map provided at the front gate of the research forest to help, also on website) until you see the trail junction for the Upland Route. You will notice a footpath leading north (goes downhill) and one leading south (goes up-hill). For a quicker find take the south, uphill path to find this geocache. If you prefer a longer stroll, take the north path down and walk/bike around the entire Upland Route loop. An alternate route is to continue down on the connector route until the junction of the Lowland Trail and Upland Route. Walk beside the fence and stay on the Upland Trail which will take you along a ridge, around the bend following the Takhini River. In many places, the Upland Trail is marked with down trees placed alongside the path.
You will find Inherited View near the forest edge on a bluff overlooking the Takhini River valley. There are many standing dead trees at the edge of the forest here, we call them snag trees.
