Geocache Description:

This is the second in a series of two caches. Small cache hidden in a natural area, no camo required. Should be an easy find. Please be careful and replace in such a manner that you don't damage nature or the container. May the spirit of the turtle enrich your caching experience.
Unfortunately, the original container, a turtle shell, went missing not long after we placed this cache.

Lake Lenape in Mays Landing derives its name from the Lenni Lenape nation.

They consisted of three distinct groups from different geographic areas. The northern group was known as the Munsee (Minsi) and in the lower areas they were known as the Unami (Delaware). In southern New Jersey they were called the Unalachtigo. This group was eventually absorbed into the Delaware.
totem

For the Unami nation, the totem was the turtle. Turtles were valued as symbols of strength and longevity.
