Geocache Description:

CYNOPHOBIA

"Dark Lane Bridge on the boundary of Coppull and Standish has the reputation of being haunted by "Pongi" a big black dog with eyes as big as saucers, and should you ever set eyes on this dog then your number is up, for this big black dog is the work of Satan. Our ancestors were superstitious people and even today a lot of people touch wood. Touching wood is a survival of the old habit of placating the ancient Pagan Gods of the woodlands, should you make a promise to yourself which you may not able to keep. help!!!"

One year ago, a band of explorers set out to look for the fabled Pongi in his lair, unfortunately Pongi was not found however a strange mythical being known as PEG was discovered. Luckily this supernatural demon was put to rest (temporarily) and now hopefully another band of explorers will find this legendary beast this year. Due to the cold winter, Pongi has been spotted quite far from his lair even as far as Buckshaw Village GC2CD34. Numerous people have been seen to go missing. Were they taken to his lair? Only time will tell.

The event is planned to start at 645pm at the White Crow car park, from here we will set off for the walk at 7pm. The walk is approximately 1 mile to the tunnel entrance. From there its back to the pub for food and drink..... thats if we return from the tunnel alive.

Specialist equipment will be needed.

Torch / headtorch

Wellies or old trainers will be needed for this one as the tunnel carries the brook beneath the railway, hence its going to be rather wet. After the rain, the stream can reach waist height.
