A Walk around Chelmarsh Reservoir.
Built in the early 1960s, Chelmarsh Reservoir, south of Bridgnorth provides the home for both a sailing club and a Shropshire Wildlife Trust nature reserve, it has become a haven for winter waterfowl and with one of the biggest gull roosts locally
This walk starts from the village of Chelmarsh which sits on a ridge overlooking the reservoir. The walk route offers good views over the fine stretch of water. The walk is on public foot paths, cycle route 45 and the Jack Mytton Way, a long distance Shropshire bridleway which at times can be muddy.
You are asked not to deviate from the public footpaths and bridleways as all the caches are accessible from it. Look out for horses as there is a riding school at Dinney Farm and make sure all gates are closed.
There is no parking on access roads, on the reservoir or at the sailing club – the area is monitored by CCTV.
Thank you to South Staffordshire Water PLC for all their cooperation.
Parking is available at the Parish Hall N 52° 28.871 W 002° 24. 436
None of the caches are Drive-By
