SideTracked Caches are intended to provide quick cache-and-dashes at Railway Stations. Thornliebank station is on the Glasgow - East Kilbride route It is an unstaffed halt. There is a ramp down to both platforms and connecting footbridge with stairs between platforms.The station has customer help points fitted with induction loops on platforms. There are 4 cycle racks and CCTV in operation.
For those who like to wander through cemeteries you can find Old Eastwood Cemetary Close by to the cache site. On Wednesday, 29 October 2008 a dedication service was held to honour stillborn children who were buried in unmarked graves. A memorial was created in the Cemetery and the landscaped area features a memorial tree and simple granite block inscribed “For all our babies briefly known but never forgotten”.
