This cache is part of a series of ten caches posted to honor my wife’s birthday. There are 10 in the series because “DeeDee IS A 10”! For those younger cachers who do not understand the phrase, Google Bo Derek and 10 and you’ll figure it out. DeeDee is a master cacher and usually strives for originality and inventiveness in her caches. As you do these caches you will quickly find that I have neither of those qualities in great supply but would like to honor her with this series in what brings her happiness; getting out and caching.
This cache honors DeeDee’s love of Whidbey Island. DeeDee grew up in the desert and after we married (with some anxiety) left the cactus for the fir trees. She had to look on the map to find where Whidbey Island was. But shortly after arriving we took drives on roads like this and she fell in love. I don’t think she’ll ever leave Whidbey.
