Wild winds and stormy seas occur here, so please make sure the cache is replaced securely. If you venture up/down the steps and path from/to this cache, please take care as there is an unprotected drop to another quarry just a few feet from the path. Stay on the path and you will be OK. There is public vehicular access to the quarry, which is now used as a salt/grit depot by the council. The road may not be on SatNavs
This quarry was in use from 1820 to 1947, and provided stone for the building of Telfords new town of Pulteneytown, the harbour, and the ill-fated Stevensons Breakwater
