Old County Lock-Up
The Old Kootenai County Jail was built in 1890, when Rathdrum (formerly called Westwood) was the county seat of Kootenai County.
The building served as the Sheriff’s Office and Jail until 1908 when the courthouse and jail were moved to Coeur d’Alene.
The building has been restored by the Rathdrum/Westwood Historical Society and now serves as a museum.
You should be looking for a small green container located a short distance from the Old Jail, just inside of Heritage Park.
