itmedic614: I meant to pull this cache earlier, but didn't get around to it. It was fun, but like I said in my earlier note I got tired of people complaining about their travel bugs and labeling my cache as having "problems". Either this neighborhood doesn't deserve my cache, because muggles kept disturbing it, or the people finding it couldn't respect my efforts. Either which way, this listing is now archived.

Schiller Park is the second oldest park in Columbus Ohio, Goodale was first in 1857. Schiller Park was obtained in April 1867 for $15,000.

Originally called Stewart's Grove by the early settlers, the city bought these 23.5 acres in 1867 and Stewart's Grove became City Park. In 1891 it was renamed Schiller park after the famous German poet, Friedrich von Schiller. An impressive statue of Schiller decorates the center of the park.

During World War I, American sentiment turned against all things German and Schiller Park was renamed Washington Park. Several of the German Street names in the area also were changed. After the war, the park's name was changed back to Schiller, although most of the streets did not revert to their pre-war names (German Village Society, 1992)

This cache has been placed with the permission of the park superintendent. Please use stealth and ninja-skillz as the cache is in a high muggle area. This cache is only accessible during park hours of 8am-11pm. Also check the website (visit link) for theatric performances at the park, running from May to September, which makes the cache inaccessible during these shows. You might wish to go to the performance and search for the cache afterwards, as they are consistently rated highly, and worth the time to check out.

Please keep our park clean, and using the excuse of cleaning the park will help you with any muggles when you search for the cache itself.
