Geocache Description:

Driving along Idaho roadways during the spring and summer months, its hard not to notice the large clumps of white flowers scattered throughout cultivated fields, rangelands and pastures. This is the noxious weed known as whitetop or hoary cress. So thick at times it resembles snow from a distance. You can find this cache in the Hubbard Recreation Area off Stewart Road between Hubbard Road and Deer Flat Road.

When you find this cache to will learn more about how to identify whitetop and discover why it's such a serious problem in Ada County. Then if you come across any whitetop infestations when you’re playing on public lands in Ada County, we ask that you please log the GPS coordinates and submit them to Ada County Weed Control either by following the links below or by emailing them to weedandpest@adaweb.net.

The easiest way to access the cache is by parking in the lot in front of the Hubbard Recreation Area. There is a semi-visible trail that will take you a mile or so back into the recreation area. This is a challenging trail that will eventually lead you to a barbed wire fence. Near a break in the fence and close to a few dead trees you will find this cache hidden underneath a wooden post.
