Road to Nowhere Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

lean-2: The area has changed considerably since I placed this cache. There is evidence of human activity (or very large moles). The host tree may have gone, as I couldn't find the cache despite my GPS saying I was only 4m from the coords. Regretfully archiving.

Geocache Description:

A cache in a wood off a road that goes nowhere!

Since the A1(M) was built a road was severed so now this road [Hill Bank / Spitlands Lane / Clareton Lane] starts just outside Arkendale and loops to re-joins the same road a bit further down. Arkendale itself is a pleasant village.
The cache is in a wood; parking is available at the end of the lane that goes down the side of the wood - please don't block the lane itself. Your GPS may waver due to tree cover. The container is a clip box and quite well hidden - please replace as found and make sure it can't be seen - thanks.
July 2013: I notice the road has been badly affected by the winter so please take care. I suspect that - as it leads to nowhere - it isn't high on the priority list for repair.
