Prvi zapisi o poselitvi planote Gora segajo v leto 1601, ko se je tu naselil lovec Štefan Bizjak.
Kasneje so zaceli izkorišcati lesno bogastvo iz Trnovskega gozda, kar pa je bilo težko zaradi neustreznih cestnih povezav. Tako je leta 1823 takratni vice gozdni mojster Jožef Ressel projektiral novo cestno povezavo na vzhodni strani Trnovskega gozda od Dola (Predmeja) proti Ajdovšcini. Zaradi visokih gradbenih stroškov so zacetek del prestavili in jo zgradili šele v letih 1836-1838.
Kasneje so zaradi strmine pod Predmejo traso ceste prestavili in sedaj poteka skozi tunele kot prava gorska cesta.
Zaradi kraškega terena je bila težavna tudi oskrba prebivalcev s pitno vodo. Razlicne države pod katere je spadala Gora v preteklosti so se gradnje lotile, zakljucila pa jo je šele leta 1992 Slovenija.

Leta 2001 so Gorjani praznovali 400 letnico naselitve planote. Ob tej priliki so tudi postavili spomenik blizu katerega je skrit zaklad.
S tega mesta se odpira lep razled na Vipavsko dolino, je del peš poti po Dolu gor in dol, prav tu pa lahko zacnemo tudi Pot po robu, ki poteka prav po robu nad dolino od Predmeje do Cola.

The first records of settlement in the plateau Gora range in the year 1601, when the hunter Štefan Bizjak settled here.
Later they started to exploit the wood from Trnovski gozd, which was difficult due to inadequate road links. Thus, in 1823 the vice forest master Josef Ressel designed the new road link to the eastern side of the Trnovski gozd of Dol (Predmeja) to Ajdovšcina. Due to high construction costs are start work moved and built the project in the years 1836-1838.
Later, the road route moved and is now passing through tunnels like a real mountain road.
Because of the karst terrain was also difficult supply with drinking water. Different countries which fall under the Gora in the past, works have started, but it was completed only Slovenia in 1992.

In 2001 "Gorjani" celebrated the 400 anniversary of the settlement plateau. At this occasion, were also raised the monument. The cach is hidden nearby.
From this site is beautiful view in the Vipava Valley and is part of the walking trails Pot po Dolu gor in dol. Here you can start a path along the edge, which runs right along the edge of the valley from Predmeja to Col.
