SVE: Under 1600 - och 1700 talen var
tjäran en av de viktigaste exportvarorna från Sverige. I nästan
varje by har det funnits minst en tjärdal. Anledningen till detta
var att tjäran hade många användingsområden och var därför mycket
lättsåld.
Om man lyckades väl kunde en bränning ge 1000 kg tjära men 700-800
kg var vanligast. På 1920-och 30 talen betalades cirka 1kr kilot
för produkten. Tjärproduktionen nådde sin kulmen på 1850talet och
sjönk sen undan för undan och den sista bränningen i Markaryds
socken gjordes något år in på 1940 talet.

important export produkt from sweden. In almost every village there
have at least one pit. Reason for this was that the tar had a keen
use area and was therefore very easy to sell.
If managed well, a burn could produce 1000 kg tar but 700-800 kg
were most common. In the 1920 and 30 centuries it was paid
approximately 1kr kilo for the product. The tar productionen peaked
at 1850talet and then declined gradually and the last firing in
Markaryds parish was made sometime into the 1940's.>
