Becca's Brookline Paths #5 (Winchester) Traditional Cache
warmstorage: I can't do consistent enough maintenance, given how much room people take up in a nano log. It's also disappointing that without consulting me, someone replaced the black nano container with a bright gold one, which completely took away the color camo factor.

UPDATED 10 DEC 2019: DISABLED Unfortunately, I'm going to leave this cache disabled indefinitely. Contact me if you want to adopt. I just can't get there often enough to do cache maintenance, especially when single finders take up an inch or more in a nano log. It's a neat cache with neat great history, but I can't do it justice. Also, I'm not sure who replaced the nano container without consulting me, but the different color made the difficulty more like a 1.5.
Brookline has a unique series of footpaths to allow easy access up and down the steep hills to pedestrians. Most are narrow, wooded paths leading through wooded alleys with glimpses into the back yards of adjacent houses. Fifth in a series of caches on the Paths, originally placed by 3ToeHeads, adopted January 2016 by warmstorage. Winchester Path climbs through the woods up the northeast slope of Corey hill. The path is steep and almost all stairs. This is one of the longer paths, at 310.48 feet in length. It allows easy access to the middle of Mason Terrace from the Coolidge Corner commercial district. Please check out this great history of Winchester Path written by local author and urban planner Linda Olson Pehlke: http://www.brooklinehistoricalsociety.org/paths/Winchester/winchesterPath.asp I now understand the importance of logging DNF and "needs maintenance" requests since I became an adoptive cache owner. PLEASE log these, and/or message me (warmstorage) directly if you don't find this cache, or if it needs maintenance. I have replaced the rubber gasket in the nano, and if the log gets wet again, I'll replace the container. There is a fair bit of muggle activity in the area, esp. on the road: the cache is in plain sight, so please sign and replace stealthily! At night the difficulty on this one is probably a 3 or 3.5, due to the color camo. Significantly easier in the daytime.
