Cloud Cache Series - Cirrostratus Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Team_Schnauzer: Stopped here today to check on this and the whole area around GZ has changed a lot since this was placed. Not really any good options left here so it's time to archive it.

Geocache Description:

Quick P&G cache located just off of South Loop Drive in Ames. You can access this road via Airport road from two spots. Camo'd pill bottle. Contains log book and pencil.

This is definitely a cache that I would consider high-muggle. The best times to do it would be evenings, early mornings or weekends. Please place the container back as you found it.

This cache is part of our Cloud Cache Series. This cache was formerly known as "Genetically-Altered?"

Cirrostratus clouds are thin, generally uniform clouds, composed of ice-crystals. They are difficult to detect and if capable of forming halos the cloud takes the form of thin cirrostratus nebulosus. The cloud has a fibrous texture with no haloes if it is thicker cirrostratus fibratus. On the approach of a frontal system, the cirrostratus often begins as nebulosus and turns to fibratus. If the cirrostratus begins as fragmented fibratus it often means the front is weak. Cirrostratus is usually located above 5.5 km (18,000 ft). Its presence indicates a large amount of moisture in the upper atmosphere.
