Geocache Description:


I needed to get out after an unproductive day of wasting time playing games when I should have been dealing with other things. I pulled on my boots and headed out to the Forest Preserve. It was a chilly day for a walk. It felt like I was hiking in the Klondike.

Despite the weather there were lots of people on the trails today. I noticed that most of them were in groups of two or three. I was one of the few people walking alone. I saw workers carrying spades, girls wearing diamonds and men wearing suits. Normally being alone suits me just fine, but today I would have liked someone to share the trail with me. I guess it just wasn’t in the cards but we all have to play the hand we are dealt.

Speaking of cards, I brought along a deck of cards in case I found someone to play a game with me, but I didn’t have the heart to ask anyone. Maybe I should form a club. In the meantime I guess I’ll have to play alone.

I shuffled up the path heading north for a while. I stopped and laid my cards out to look at them. I didn’t have anyone to play with and didn’t feel like playing alone so I picked up the cards one by one in the opposite order from the way I laid them out and headed west back to the car.

So here is the deal. If you play your cards right you should be able to find an ammo can hidden in Independence Grove. Read the clues, and the cards, front to back to figure out the coordinates. If you approach it from the right direction there is almost no bushwacking involved. It’s very close to a side trail, which is a pretty good deal, if you ask me.
