Geocache Description:

There is a small “pull off” right in front of cache site for one vehicle.

Please obey posted speed limits (strictly enforced); park safely; and “Keep Off” private property.

The Louis Penfield House is across the street, south of the cache site. The Louis Penfield Home is a private residential home designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. It is on the U.S. Register of Historical Places. Frank Lloyd Wright designed homes were termed “Usonians” and barely 100 were built. This is one of these homes and is unique because it was built specifically for a taller person.

“Louis Penfield was six feet eight inches tall. When meeting Mr. Wright for the first time, he asked, “Can you design a house for someone as tall as me?” Wright was silent for a moment, then replied, “Yes, but we’ll have to design a machine to tip you sideways first” (from the Penfield House website).
