Geocache Description:

cache is a click and lock box in a camo bag
the path way runs both ways round the site parking is easy along side of pool and local pub .
boots and wellies are footwear of the day if been raining pushchair friendly one side

The reservoir was built to provide a supply of water for the five locks on the Wyrley Branch. The canal was abandoned in the 1950s.

Current water levels are some 20 feet below the crest level of the dam. Historic mapping shows a much greater water area. Part of the reservoir area may have been lost when the M6 Motorway was constructed in the 1960s.
there a great deal of tench and perch in pool with a few good size carp
