Buckridge Actual
PseudoBuckridge
You have to love the difference in maps. I went to the one that
shows up on internet maps first. I hide a cache there convinced I
was in the correct location. I would not recommend going there. It
is private property, and the people in the trailer court tend to be
a bit paranoid. After talking with the City Parks Department, I had
the necessary information to look for the mythical Buckridge Park.
ArcherDragoon dug up all the paperwork on the place so we knew
where we could and could not be.
The City states that this is a water only access park with no
intention of development. When asked if it is open to the public, I
was told that it is. Only access the park from the south (not very
good place to land a canoe) or east (very good place to land a
canoe, it is even marked).
This cache is not an easy cache. It is tough mentally and
physically. The squirrels looked at us a little weird when they saw
the ladder strapped to the side of the canoe, but you have to be
prepared for anything. I can certify that it is dress clothes
appropriate. I did it in my dress clothes with the exception of
boots; I did switch those out. This cache is available in the
winter, but why would you. I highly doubt the river freezes over
enough for it to be safe. If you do attempt this in the winter, I
am not responsible.
No animals or small children were hurt in the
making or placement of this cache.
This cache counts for Buckridge Park in the
Rochester City Parks Challenge. Park number 7.
