A cache placed near The Old Gayton Workhouse. It's on a very quiet road and placed a little way from the actual property.
This cache also rewards the cacher with a beautiful view of Norfolk countryside.
Following the introduction in 1834 of the Poor Law Amendment Act many workhouses were
built. Norfolk was divided into 22 Unions and to the east of King’s Lynn 32 parishes were
grouped together to form the Freebridge Lynn Union. The Gayton Workhouse was built to a cost of £5146. Men, Women and Children were all kept segregated. Even married couples were kept apart. The workhouse eventually closed in 1948. Today it's a beautifully renovated private home.
Cache is a small clip and lock container with room for TB's and swops.
Well done to Eusty for FTF - Now get back to caching or no more gruel for you...lol.
